MANILA — Given the extended break, Rain or Shine is taking the opportunity to correct the lapses they had during Game 1 of their PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinals series against Barangay Ginebra.

The Elasto Painters had a bad start against the Gin Kings, who went on to win, 102-89, and claim a 1-0 lead in their best-of-five series.

They were supposed to clash again on Tuesday, but because of the inclement weather, their faceoff was postponed for Thursday.

Coach Caloy Garcia believes they know what to fix — and it isn't to stop Ginebra import Justin Brownlee, who came close to a triple double performance of 35 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists last Sunday.

"He does a lot of things for Ginebra. He can play big, he can play small. It's really difficult to match up against him," Garcia told the PBA website.

"(But) basically, if we focus too much on Brownlee, baka papatayin pa kami ng iba."

Garcia said the other Kings they would have to look out for include former Elasto Painter Jeff Chan, who had 21 points in Game 1.

"Malaking bagay si Jeff," he said. "He gives Ginebra more scoring punch from the outside."

Garcia said to be successful against Ginebra they need more effort and consistency — which they lacked in Game 1.

Patience was also an issue in their defeat.

"We were able to come back from an 18-point deficit, cut it down to four, but then it seems na nanggigil. Kaya kailangan pa namin ng kaunting disiplina sa offense, kasi nga parang nawawalan kami ng pasensya," he said.

"We were all able to see it on video and we have made the adjustments."
