MANILA, Philippines – More than 100 fans joined the second blood donation drive held by the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) last Saturday.

Players and coaches also showed up at the upper box lobby of the Smart Araneta Coliseum to support the cause, held in partnership with Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay Inc., a non-stock, non-profit organization headed by founder Nap Marilag and the Doctors and Nurses of Philippine Orthopedic Center, and the Margarito Duavit Hospital.

The players present were not compelled to donate blood, however, with the playoffs of the Commissioner's Cup set to start on Monday.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial was also around to supervise the event, held just before the day's double-header of Rain or Shine vs. TNT KaTropa and Magnolia vs. San Miguel Beer.

Some 80 bags of blood were collected from the various donors, who were given free upper box tickets, snacks, and souvenir shirts.
