ai vision-‘Walwal’ snags P4-M on opening day

"Walwal" snagged a solid P4-million debut Wednesday, producer Regal Films announced.
The Jose Javier Reyes-directed flick about college students trying to navigate the tricky transition into adulthood — a path littered with mistakes and alcohol — opened in 150 cinemas.
It received good reviews, with film critic Fred Hawson describing it as this generation's "Bagets," a beloved 1984 teen movie.
In his praise for Reyes, he said the director managed to keep the film "fresh and current with several imaginative little twists here and there in the storytelling."
Hawson also has positive things to say about the cast, led by Elmo Magalona, Kiko Estrada, Donny Pangilinan and Jerome Ponce.
"The disarming performances of the four lead stars gave the film its own charm and their female fans their thrills," said Hawson.
