Denzel Washington does not normally make sequels, but "The Equalizer 2" is an exception.

Columbia Pictures has released the brand new trailer for the revenge action-thriller film, a sequel to the 2014 movie "The Equalizer" based on the TV series of the same name.

It follows the story of Robert McCall, a retired agent who serves an "unflinching justice for the exploited and oppressed."

But things get personal as he seeks revenge over the death of his long-time friend, Susan Plummer.

"The Equalizer 2" also stars Pedro Pascal, Ashton Sanders, Bill Pullman, and Melissa Leo. 

It is written by Richard Wenk and directed by Antoine Fuqua, who previously worked with Washington in the first "Equalizer," as well as "Training Day" (2001), and "The Magnificent Seven" (2016).

"The Equalizer 2" will be released on August 29.
