bin picking-PCOO apologizes to Gatchalian for error, promises to ‘avoid oversight’

MANILA – The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) apologized to Senator Sherwin Gatchalian for wrongfully naming the lawmaker in an official release.

In an erratum posted on its website on Saturday, the PCOO said: "We take these matters seriously and, rest assured, we have applied stricter measures to avoid oversight [sic]."

'Winston' who? PCOO uses wrong name for Sen. Gatchalian in news release

In a release dated June 13, the PCOO erroneously identified Gatchalian, who goes by the nickname "Win" as "Winston Gatchalian."

The lawmaker himself took notice of the error which he posted on his Twitter account.

"We apologize to the good senator and our readers for this mistake.
It is our duty to disseminate accurate information and this error is not in accordance with the standards of the President’s communications team," the PCOO said.

As of posting time, the PCOO has already corrected the error on its website.

The same office earlier drew flak over a Facebook post after it called Norway "Norwegia" and later on mistakenly named the late National Security Adviser Roilo Golez as “Rogelio."
