MANILA – Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque on Friday said he had a dialogue with Papal Nuncio Archbishop Gabriele Giordano Caccia during Friday’s celebration of Pope’s Day.

"Had an hour with him but we agreed to keep it private," he told ABS-CBN News in a text message.

Roque took the place of President Rodrigo Duterte, who couldn't attend the event at the Apostolic Nunciature in Malate, Manila.

He said he will issue a statement Saturday morning on what transpired during the dialogue.

"No-holds-barred," he said.

Together with Roque were foreign Affairs Undersecretary Ernesto Abella and and self-proclaimed civic leader Boy Saycon.

Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco, who is part of the four-man committee Duterte created, could not make it as he is sick.

Caccia earlier invited Duterte to attend Friday's celebration, which marks the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, following his recent comments against God.
