ai vision – Houston’s Capela reportedly seeking $100M contract

Restricted free-agent center Clint Capela reportedly wants a nine-figure contract to stay with the Houston Rockets.

According to ESPN.com's Tim MacMahon, Capela is seeking a four-year contract worth about $100 million. Houston is said to be offering four years for about $60 million.

Signing Capela, 24, seemingly is becoming more necessary by the day for the Rockets. The team already has lost Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute to free agency, and Capela is an important weapon on defense for Houston.

The 6-foot-10 Capela, the No. 25 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, averaged 13.9 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game in 74 games last season.

Led by James Harden and Chris Paul, the Rockets had the NBA's best record in 2017-18 and fell to the Golden State Warriors in seven games in the Western Conference finals.
