As the old childhood song taught us, "First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in the baby carriage." 

While they do have plans to have a child, Maxene Magalona explained that she and her husband, musician Rob Mananquil, are in no rush to enter that third chapter in their love story just yet. 

The actress was asked by some well-meaning reporters, as seen in a video uploaded by Push on Monday, about when she and her partner, whom she married in January, intend to start a family. 

"Not yet," Magalona said, before adding it is not yet the "right" time for them to be raising a child, as both are focused on pursuing their dreams at the moment. 

"We just want to do what feels right. And what feels right to us right now is just to solidify our foundation before we can even think of having kids," she said. "Kailangan handa kami."

"At para maging handa kami, kailangan close na close kami at solid with each other.

Magalona married Mananquil in January. She describes him as the man who made her believe in love stories again, and that she feels that "everything's clearer" ever since they tied the knot.
