ai vision-FIBA World Cup: Qualified Gilas eyes improving record in Taipei trip

Gilas Pilipinas looks for its second road win in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers as the national team takes on Chinese Taipei Friday to start the third window of the first round.

The Philippines will take on Taipei at the Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium. Tip off will be at 7 p.m.

With a 3-1 record, Gilas is through to the second round but the national team is still looking to pile up wins as records will be carried over.

Romeo back in Gilas 12 for Chinese-Taipei showdown

In their previous meeting back in November of last year at the Big Dome, Gilas overcame a slow start to beat Taipei, 90-83.

The Taiwanese are looking to return the favor at home as they fight for their lives. At 1-3, Taipei is barely ahead of winless Japan for the third and final second round spot in Group B.

Gilas will feature an intact 12-man lineup that has Andray Blatche, Jayson Castro, Gabe Norwood, June Mar Fajardo, Japeth Aguilar, Calvin Abueva, Matthew Wright, RR Pogoy, Troy Rosario, Jio Jalalon, Allein Maliksi, and Terrence Romeo.
